Meet Levi, the perfect baby boy of Justin and Emily. I’ve known Justin, quite literally, my entire life, and his wife Emily and I quickly became best friends when she and Justin started dating. This family are three of my favorite people in the whole world. Levi decided to come into this world 10 days early, so I was still several hours away and didn’t get to meet him until he was a week and a half old. I thought I’d share a few pictures of this adorable little guy.

Jonathan and I have been working hard to try to consolidate our belongings. We’ve made several trips to Goodwill in the past year in effort to basically cut our belongings in half (so if anyone is looking for a love seat or a leather couch, let me know!), so when Jonathan went yardsaling last summer and came home with a $5 bike to add to his collection, I, needless to say, wasn’t as excited about it as he was. I didn’t mind him having it, especially when I saw how excited he was about it, but I didn’t know the vision he had for this ’74 Raleigh.
After several months of restoring it in his spare time, I have to admit, she’s pretty. He asked me to take a few pictures of it for him, so I thought I’d share them here. You can also see his blog post about it, which has all the details of the project.

When I ordered my camera, I was intrigued by the HD video component of it, but I had never actually used it until a few days ago. I took a few little clips of Lucy while she was devouring her cake and put them together.

I can’t believe this sweet girl a year old already! This was my first shoot using my new lens. I love the lens when I get it right, but I definitely need more practice with it. The pictures aren’t perfect, but the baby in them is, especially covered in icing.
After almost every bite, she would put her hands on her belly, shake her head and say “Mmmmmm!” It was precious.
Happy birthday, Lucy!

When Kelly Moore announced that she would be designing and selling camera bags in December of last year, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for: large enough for my most-used gear, but stylish, so it didn’t look like I was carrying all my gear (and enough pockets for lip gloss, a cell phone and a debit card). I was hesitant to buy one because most of the bags in this category look gigantic on my five-foot frame. The Jill-e bag was OK, but I needed a High Rollover Risk warning tattooed on my forehead. I was like a sixteen-year-old kid driving a Hummer too fast around a corner while texting. Yep, that bad.
Kelly Moore’s hobo bag was still on my wish list, but I just couldn’t muster the guts to buy something that I wasn’t sure would work. Then, my friend Kristi bought one. The exact one I wanted… the blue hobo. The bad side, naturally, was that she bought the exact bag I wanted, completely independently of each other. The good side was that I got to “try it on” before I committed. So, my guts I mustered and made the purchase. I bought my second-favorite color choice, so I wouldn’t be a total copy cat.
I went to Fort Lauderdale on Monday, and airport security seemed like the perfect place to test out the new bag. I received compliments on my “cute purse!” and no one knew I was carrying a few thousand dollars of equipment through a crowded terminal. This could be the start of a beautiful friendship, and we already have our first roadtrip under our belt — and not while texting in a Hummer.
